Who am I?

I’m a certified personal trainer and kickboxing coach with a background in weight loss, strength training, kettlebell exercise, advanced bodyweight training, core conditioning, and corrective exercise. I’ve been interested in all aspects of fitness for as long as I can remember, with training in several styles of martial arts and fitness.

As your personal trainer and coach, we'll work together to create a plan that suits your fitness needs, and will allow you to achieve your goals in a timely manner. Throughout the process, I will provide you with the essential education and motivation you need to incorporate proper exercise form, nutrition habits, and consistent mindfulness, an important element of exercise that cannot be overlooked. Whether you are interested in improving your physique, or improving the overall quality of your life, I am committed to helping you set and achieve all of your fitness goals.

how did i get started?

My journey with martial arts and fitness started in 1996 at the age of 5, when I was enrolled at a local Karate and Kickboxing Studio in West Los Angeles. I was bullied as a kid, and had a lot of energy that couldn't be focused on team sports, so my parents thought martial arts would help increase my confidence, and find a healthy outlet for my boundless energy (as well as keep me away from those video games). It kicked my butt at first, but I worked hard, and earned my black belt in 2009, and my second degree black belt in 2013. I had good training days, where I felt on top of the world, and days that were so tough that I wanted to quit. Martial Arts taught me to stick to my guns, no matter how tough things got, because the reward for my hard work would be worth it.

My first role as a coach started in 2008, when I was looking for work in high school, and decided that teaching martial arts would be something I could really well since I already had more than 10 years of training, and I was waiting until I turned 18 to receive my black belt. After some persuasion, the owner of the school gave me a chance teaching kids Karate. I had to start somewhere, and I'm glad I started with teaching kids because it taught me how to be patient, and helped me hone my teaching skills.

Fast forward 5 years: I had long moved onto teaching adults, and after a few of my kickboxing clients made comments about how amazed they were at the things they were now able to do, I decided that I wanted to do more to help them. I studied, and first became a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise in 2013, where my fitness journey has continued to this day.
